This week’s kiln favourite: Neo Bowl in Charcoal Ocean 21cm is a medium to large dinner bowl for individual pasta or curry or a communal small salad bowl. More details below image. Bowl - Charcoal Ocean This is our new cover glaze ‘Ocean' on our base Neo Charcoal. A cover glaze is one that you dip, spray, brush or pour over another glaze. A cover glaze often creates a decorative layer over a base layer by way of contrast, colour or finish. Here it’s created what is known as a gloss floating blue with a metallic sheen in areas over the base matte charcoal glaze. On its own this cover glaze is a semi gloss green but changes to blue and browny golds over the matte charcoal base glaze. Image of cup below is an example of the cover glaze. Market News In addition to having a stall at the next Heide Market on the 14th of October we will also have a stand at the Inner West Art Fair at The Substation in Newport on the weekend of 24-26 November. Tickets available for Friday night opening (includes a drink and first viewing of art), General Admission Sat and Sun or Sunday Art Breakfast. The SUNDAY ART BREAKFAST ticket includes your ticket into the fair on Sunday 26th from 10am, a croissant by CANDIED BAKERY and a coffee. A small kiln unload with 4 plates and 3 large planters taking up most of the kiln space. New glaze combination on the planter below. A bit of old gold over a chocolate brown base glaze with a carved and textured finish on this large 18cm planter. Very happy with some of the variations of our Neo matte glaze, a beautiful two tone caramel tan and chocolate on a couple of mugs. Perfect for hot chocolate, cappuccinos and lattes. A large bowl using our matte charcoal glaze with a glossy ocean cover glaze would make a lovely special occasion gift.
